New golf equipment: Which tour stars are changing in 2021?

New gear releases means the big names are changing their setups. Equipment editor Hannah Holden takes a closer look

It’s been change time on tour with players putting all sorts of new golf equipment into play. So let’s round up who’s been on the equipment merry-go-round.

Titleist TSi drivers

If you missed it, where have you been? Ian Poulter revealed the new Titleist driver this weekend on Instagram. His TSi3 driver is part of the new Titleist TSi metalwoods range, which also includes a TSi2 model and numerous fairway woods.

While it was no surprise to see Poulter upgrade his Titleist gear, it was bit of a shock to see Tommy Fleetwood put the TSi3 driver in play at the Portugal Masters.

Fleetwood has gamed a TaylorMade driver for the last few seasons so this is a big shift – especially considering the stretch of majors we are about to go into.

And that’s not the only change he has made either, with new TaylorMade prototype irons being added to the bag as well.

Talking about big changes, every week Haotong Li seems to have a new Titleist club in his bag. He did sign with TaylorMade back in 2018 but is now sporting a Titleist bag and Titleist equipment.

He has been wearing FootJoy gear for a while now but has now switched to a full bag of Titleist equipment, including the T100 irons and the new TSi3 driver.

More TaylorMade irons spotted

Since his split with Callaway, Sergio Garcia has put a wide variety of clubs into play. He did have the Ping Blueprint irons in his bag but these have now been replaced with the new TaylorMade P7MBs.

And he’s not the only one! It wasn’t that long ago Charlz Schwartzel was drilling holes in a set of Miura irons. Now he’s got a new set of TaylorMade P7MBs in play.

I also spy a LAB Directed Force 2.1 putter cover in there too. You can watch my full review here.

Major bag for a major week

It’s the ANA Inspiration this week on the LPGA Tour and Callaway have brought out this bag to celebrate. Anne Van Dam and Georgia Hall are among numerous players sporting it this week.

We often see specialist tour bags for mens majors so it’s great to see Callaway doing the same for their female staffers.

We all know it’s likely there are more big equipment reveals to come so keep your eyes on the NCG equipment page to stay up to date.
