  1. Very informative, thanks guys. Now if it could stop raining here in Kent I'd be able to put this into practice!

    Let's get stuck in…doors!

  2. So many videos around internet showing the "correct" way to hit different shots when golf is about feeling and getting the ball where you want it to go, no matter which stance position or strike power you choose. Another great video , Mark! Keep sharing different golfers view of the game, and yours of course. 🙂

  4. Matt is really good with those sawed off shots in general. You can tell by his path through and low finish that he can really control the height and spin of those shots.

  5. Great vid & good info as always delivered well, by both. Agree that ball position relative to the position of your sternum is critical, but if you are used to monitoring carefully your usual width of your feet you can do it that way. Speed of the club by pro's and good ams on these part shots governed by the body (shoulder) pivot in the main, a lot of the problems for handicap players with these kind of shots that I've seem have been caused by not maintaining posture (v. height) and over use of the hands trying to lift the ball in the air and not trusting the loft and downward attack on the ball.

  6. Lol!  WIND?! Breeze! I don't see the bushes moving behind you, come up to Scotland Mark we'll show you some wind!!
Actually, here's an idea, you could get one of those small wind measuring devices ( I use one for kite surfing) and then show us the reading to give us an idea if it's 10,15 or 20 mph (a 1,2, or 3 club wind!) then we'll have more of an idea how blowy it is (or not!)  Good instructional element to this vid tho!
The Parfield/Lockey Magic combo is really growing on me! 🙂

GREAT tip ref the ball position from the body chest!!!

  7. Another quality video.
Can't wait for your Ping i25 videos, Mark.  Bet you're itching to hit those woods if you haven't already!

  8. Great video! This was a good way of teaching I think. Find a specific shot, and show a couple ways of how to make it work.

  9. Liked this vid as it gave me something specific to take to the range and work on when the weather improves. Thank you.

  10. Great video guys!!!!  I really enjoyed the way you each talked us thru the shot describing the how and why…having the ability to hit those shots into a stiff wind is a must!  Thanks for the insight!!

  11. Personally, i'm a Lockey-magic kinda guy.. I love pulling out a low iron and just feeling the ball on to the green, especially when into-wind! Is very satisfying if i pull it off!

  12. Hey mark I just want to thank you and the guys for your insight into this great game. I just started playing a year ago and your videos have helped me tremendously. Everything I know about golf I learned from you and your vids keep up the great work.

  13. Another good video guys. I was wondering does having the ball back in your stance encourage a in to out path and a right to left flight? I play that low draw into the wind myself but sometimes it draws too much. Can I play it in the middle of my stance as well?

  14. Haven't been playing to long but the first time I've heard about the ball to body – position as apposed ball to feet – position. Makes great sense. off to the range

  15. Great video.  Very informative.  Taking this format to alot of different problem areas would be extra helpful for us hackers.  Thanks guys.

  16. Great video guys, I like to play it how Coach Lockey did, I prefer to drop down a couple clubs and swing easier to control the spin when playing into the wind. I found that when I do like Mark did for his first shot I'm likely to put too much spin on it and balloon it up in the wind.  But to each their own I guess.

  17. Thanks mark crossfeild and coach Lukey for this video I went and practiced what mark said ball back hands forward now I'm hitting low pitching wedge shot now just from watching this video time to take it to the course thanks agin mark crossfeild and coach Lukey for this tip

  18. Mark…I have been having a problem that is plaguing me for some time. Could you please do a video to explain in detail the hand action at impact for iron shots? I take deep divots all the time and feel like I am hitting with my right hand. It causes all kinds of miss hits from chunks, to thins, and more often than not, smother hooks with no height. I feel like my right elbow is very close to my right side when making contact and wonder if this is part of the problem? Does the right hand snap into the ball at impact or should I have more of a pulling action with my left arm to try and eliminate this 'snapping' of my right hand into the ball. My game is in the toilet at this point and I can't seem to figure the hand action out. Used to be 8, now 12, and going up……due to my iron play……..Please help………Thanks very much!!!
