Awesome tip Mark, gonna give that ago, tend to play from those lies a lot and get stuck with an iron.
Awesome advice mark, will most definitely use this shot in the future
Quality Mark
What would you do if you had about 20 yards in that kind of condition?
Swing hard. Get lucky
seen this done with a 3 wood as well!
After watching this before my round I found myself in the same lie. Figured I'd try it out. Saved par. Thanks Mark!
Awesome!!
definitely use this shot nice job Mark
what if im in the rough but im atleast 20 plus yards from the green?
Mark Crossfield here, I'm wearing another ugly shirt, lets get stuck in.
lol @ the 3 dislikes. The ball stop a foot past the hole.
I this THE Logan Grayhill , the one with 30+ majors to his name?

Interesting concept Mark, never thought of trying a putter for one of those before! Will give it a go and see what happens!
Interesting. I'll always used a hybrid to get out of thick rough. Hmmmm. Thanks.
I too say interesting. As qgbson34 said in previous comment, I use my hybrid irons to get out of thick stuff if just off the green, I'll have to give this a go to see how well it works with a putter which I never thought of using it that way. Thanks for the lesson.
That's why the putter is sometimes referred to as the "Texas wedge".
Wow. That's a nice tip. Thanks!
I gotta try this and see if it will work with my center shaft.
Nice tip mark will try this !
Cool little tip
nope. called that because of Texas hardpan not rough.
maybe Trevino said it as a joke. i dunno !
fantastic!
Have u seen the shot where one turns the putter 90 degrees and chips with just the end of the putter. Tiger played it in one of the last tourneys he won
Good tip but..
isn't the title misleading? It seems like what you really did there was just a strange Putting technique from off the green. I personally am looking for how to actually use a wedge to chip out of rough to a tight pin, would have been nice if you included the more traditional method. Thanks tho! seems cool
I do this with a hybrid
Interesting "chip" of sorts! I never thought that a putter would pop it out like that.
worth a try , but unsure whether it would work if it was downhill on a fast green with the hole 5-7 ft away.
Never seen anything like this will try.
Excellent tip, i tried this before and it sure does help, but not results like yours!! Awesome
Use a hybrid if you got one. Better feel and control with hybrid.
the shot is called a "Texas Wedge", very well known in this area because that shot is common around here. : )
Great tip Mark 👍🏻cheers mate
It works!! 🙂
if you're ever in the sand and have openings where the grass edge doesn't push the ball back to the sand then feel free to use the putter with the good control speed and see it roll on the Green
class that Mark. a forgotten art. no pictures on a scorecard. whatever it takes. REEESPECT.john.
Bruh….This is an oldie but goodie. Had trouble with this exact shot next to the green. Came across this video and its been amazing….. My golf partners though I was nuts when I first tried this until I almost put it in the cup…lol..thanks
Nice
Mark I tried the shot this weekend and it worked perfectly, left the others players confused. Got it up and down, thank you.
Had this shot today. I holed it with an approach wedge, middle of stance and short swing. With both techniques the trick is to account for the runout based on lie, slope and landing area.. basically error on the side of short for downhill or fast greens and expect it to run out atleast 1/3 or 1/4 from the landing spot, esp due to top spin or principles of the buried in rough principles
MARK are you a comedian?? deep rough DEEP ROUGH !!! THATS FIRST CUT WHERE I PLAY . TRY KNEE HIGH ROUGH THAT IS DEEP ROUGH OR ON THE CORNER BETWEEN GREEN AND TEE IS AS HIGH AS MY EYEBROWS . PAUL
